The Citation Map visually presents the number of other documents Cited By and Citing the mapped root document .
Each dot represents one document; the more a document is cited by other references, the darker its corresponding dot.

Click the black oval at the top of the Cited By and Citing column to view the associated references in a new tab.

If available for the citation map's reference, PatentPak and Full Text options are also present.
Filter Citations
The Filter By tab displays by default; the available options are based on the total Cited By/Citing document set.
Selecting an option redraws the Citation Map and filters the documents available on the Cited By/Citing tabs.
In the example below, 4 of the mapped references have "Pharmaceutical tablets" as an indexed concept.
View Citing References
When you hover the cursor over a Citing on the map, a pop-up appears and the tab automatically scrolls to the highlighted document.
Click the reference title to view a pop-up window with full abstract.
Click the title to open the Reference Detail page for the document; click Create Map to view a citation map for the document in a separate tab/window.
View Cited By References
When you hover the cursor over a Cited By on the map, a pop-up appears and the tab automatically scrolls to the highlighted document.
Click the reference title to view a pop-up window with full abstract.
Click the title to open the Reference Detail page for the document; click Create Map to view a citation map for the document in a separate tab/window.
View Root Document Information
Mouseover a dot to view the document title and author.
Click the document title to view its Reference Detail page.
Click the Expand Citations button to view additional related citations.
Click the Create Map button view a separate citation map for the document in a separate tab/window.
