On the References page, click the Download icon .
In the Download Reference Results window:
- (Optional) You may edit the auto-generated file name.
- Select a File Type and Template:
- PDF, RTF, Excel > You have the option to download:
- Result Summary: Showing the title, author, source, and abstract. Contains search task history and live links to view results in CAS SciFinder.
- Result Details: Select the desired boxes to include additional details in addition to abstract, search task history, and live links.
- Excel > In addition to Result Summary and Result Details, you have the Basic Identifiers option: Patent Number, Title, DOI.
Notes: For Basic Identifiers and Result Summary:-
- If result check boxes are not selected, the first 500 reference results are included in the file. Result Details will be the first 100 results.
- If result check boxes are selected, the number of selected reference results is displayed up to 500, and only their information will be in the file. Result Details will be up to 100 results. The ordinal/number assigned to a result may be different in the download.

- Citation (.ris): Readable by some database programs; contains abstract.

- Quoted (.txt), Tagged (.txt): Contains abstract, concepts, citations, and substances.

- PDF, RTF, Excel > You have the option to download:
- Select Quantity of results:
- For Excel, PDF, and Rich Text, select optional additional fields. You may also uncheck default selected fields.
- Click the Download button.
