New Search Home Page
The home page of CAS SciFinder has been updated to remove search types, giving users a streamlined point of entry.
Advanced search is now accessible as a tile presented below the search bar.
For users who prefer to designate search types, a new user setting is now available to reinstate search types on the home page. Please note that this setting will be removed after a period of time.
Reference Search Improvements
A model improvement allows all reference searches to be eligible for query optimization. This improves accuracy of reference search results.
Additionally, improvements have been implemented for queries containing quotes to ensure the search is performed as a literal phrase. This prevents hits on partial synonym matches, related terms, and synonyms of the quoted terms.
Filter References by Flags
A new filter is available on reference results allowing users to narrow by whether an article is open access, whether an article has a DOI, whether a patent has claims available, whether a patent has PatentPak Viewer available, whether a reference has indexed substances, and whether a reference has indexed reactions.
Set Preferred Suppliers
A new mechanism has been introduced to set preferred suppliers, aligning this with user preferences in the settings menu. From the supplier results page, a new settings button is presented:
