Find Patent References by Inventor

Using Advanced Search, you may find patent references by inventor. In the following example, we want to find any patent references with Melvin De Groote as the inventor.

1. Select the References search type.
   
   
   
   
2. In the Author Name field, enter the inventor name in last name, first name middle name format. field. As you enter text, you can also select one of the suggestions that appear.
   
   
   
   
3. Click the icon.
   
   
   
   
4. On the References results page, filter the results by Document Type > Patent.
   
   

We are now seeing patent reference results with "Melvin De Groote" as the inventor (in the By: field), including abbreviations and alternate capitalizations.
